Residence permit for skilled workers: Needs a concrete, normally full-time job offer from an employer in Norway that requires skilled-worker qualifications; the employer confirms the offer online first. Degree-level permits last up to 3 years at a time, vocational ones up to 1 year, and you can apply for permanent residence after 3 years. Regulated jobs such as health personnel also need authorisation.

Not a regulated profession: there is no licence to apply for. Employers judge your portfolio, your experience and your degree.
