Non-EU/EFTA skilled worker (L or B permit, quota): No fixed salary figure: pay and conditions must be customary for the location, profession and sector. The employer applies to the canton, which pre-decides, and the State Secretariat for Migration approves; Swiss, settled and EU/EFTA workers have priority, so the employer must show no suitable one was found. Permits come from annual quotas (4,500 B and 4,000 L permits in 2026).

Statutory audit services need an FAOA licence as an auditor or audit expert, based on education, supervised experience in accounting and audit, and a clean record. Accounting, controlling and FP&A jobs don’t need a licence.
