Residence permit for skilled workers: Needs a concrete, normally full-time job offer from an employer in Norway that requires skilled-worker qualifications; the employer confirms the offer online first. Degree-level permits last up to 3 years at a time, vocational ones up to 1 year, and you can apply for permanent residence after 3 years. Regulated jobs such as health personnel also need authorisation.

Auditors approved in another EU/EEA country, Switzerland or the UK can become state-authorised public accountants after an aptitude test in Norwegian tax law; others need a Norwegian master’s in accounting and auditing and three years of audit practice. Other finance roles don’t need approval.
