Residence permit for skilled workers: Needs a concrete, normally full-time job offer from an employer in Norway that requires skilled-worker qualifications; the employer confirms the offer online first. Degree-level permits last up to 3 years at a time, vocational ones up to 1 year, and you can apply for permanent residence after 3 years. Regulated jobs such as health personnel also need authorisation.

EU/EEA licences exchange without tests; heavy categories from a few countries (including the USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand) exchange after a test, and most others can only be used for a limited time. Carrying goods for hire also needs the driver qualification (code 95).
